• If you are constantly driving a Jeep for a living in the remote wilderness or spend a lot of time scouting the backcountry, chances are that the paint of your door sills will eventually peel off (because of rust, humidity, scratches, dents, etc.). The best way to prevent sand, little rocks, slush, and ice from damaging your steps is to use panel protectors (those are removable when using 3M automotive grade adhesive tape). Those cover are not made of cheap vinyl but genuine aluminum. It's lightweight, easy to install or remove, and gives a beautiful design finish to your rig on the trail. They wear over time (become very scratched as you live your life as 4X4 adventurer in the bush) but it's better to replace those temporary panels than having a body paint job.
